Opto-Mechatronics Technology Center

Introduction

The Opto-Mechatronics Technology Center (hereafter: OMTC) was established for more than one decade. With technology rapidly evolution, the mission of the OMTC had slight modified since 2015. By inheriting the concept of interdisciplinary technology incubating, the research goal of OMTC has aimed to focus on more specific challenges from developing intelligent factory. Those challenges include technology of human-robot collaboration, online healthy diagnosis technology for industrial machine, soft- and hard-ware for edge computing, and development of digital twin. The ultimate goal of the OMTC is to create the interdisciplinary atmosphere for all participates, including professors, students, and customers who can all collaborate for emerging technologies and create more profound technologies and more versatile future engineers.

Features

The OMTC serves as interdisciplinary research center and all participates are encouraged to provide the learning opportunity of the equipment which had been developed for industrial customer. Therefore, a small but vital space is provided for interaction purpose between professors and students. Currently, the OMTC is outfitted with industrial-level robots (2 PKM systems and 2 articular systems), Goniophotometer with rotating mirror, server motor teaching kits, and optical emission spectrometer.
